SIGN-LINK® 4.0 Coming January 2012

The Interpower Induction Sign-Link Coil Signature Monitor is a defect prevention tool, not a defect detection tool. It verifies part quality, reduces scrap, lowers labor costs, reduces machine downtime, and minimizes offline inspection requirements.

A Sign-Link Coil Signature Monitor will improve the productivity and performance of virtually any induction heating machine. It verifies the quality of every part as it is heated, and alerts the operator to adjust tooling and equipment before any bad parts are produced. Monitoring is performed in real time at the coil for maximum accuracy.

A Sign-Link Monitor charts the heat pattern of parts as they are heated. The profile generated is stored and compared to the profile of a “master” part which has been cut, polished, and examined to establish quality levels for immediate quality verification.

A Sign-Link system is extremely accurate because electrical content is monitored at the coil. It should not be confused with devices like energy monitors and frequency monitors which do not measure quality against a part signature.

The Sign-link system is self contained, and can be built into a control cabinet or remotely mounted. The monitor may be interfaced with an optional printer or computer. Sign-Link software allows a computer with Microsoft® Windows 3.1 or newer to download data to Lotus or Excel spreadsheets.

Sign-Link Monitors are easily built into new solid state and RF power supplies and motor generators, or retrofitted in the field. Hundreds of Interpower Induction coil signature monitors have been installed by both small commercial heat treaters and in large captive heat treating facilities.
